Child Abuse Prevention Month April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. It has been a busy couple of weeks here at Juliette’s House because of the different events we have planned for this month. We have a Safe Touch Family Workshop, Darkness to Light Training, OnPoint Community Credit Union donation box, Serendipity Ice Cream Fundraiser and Prevention Walks in both Newberg and McMinnville. Safe Touch Workshops Juliette’s House offers a monthly series of 4 session workshops for families who have been impacted by unsafe touch — a safe, supportive, healing environment in which family members learn together how to prevent further abuse, strengthen healthy interactions, and learn how to keep communication open about safe & unsafe situations.
2018-11-06 2018-11-06. At Holy Cow Creamery, they're scooping up ice cream for charity. After a robbery that happened back in June the creamery is looking to spread awareness about drug usage.
During the month of April, we are holding these workshops on April 10th, 17th and 24th from 6:30 p.m. The workshops will be at Juliette’s House, 1075 SW Cedarwood Ave., McMinnville OR. These workshops are FREE, but you MUST pre-register by calling Juliette’s House. There will be food, prizes and childcare provided. Darkness to Light Training / Stewards of Children We offer “Darkness to Light / Stewards of Children” training for adults who work with children. This training teaches participants how to keep kids safe from abuse. Topics range from personal responsibility, holding other adults in our community responsible, mandatory reporting and organizational policy.
There will be a Darkness to Light training on April 11th from 6:00 p.m. At Wascher Elementary, 986 7th St. Ext., Lafayette, OR. There will be an additional training on April 13th from 5:30 p.m.

Serendipity Ice Cream Fundraiser Serendipity Ice Cream has chosen Juliette’s House for its “2nd Tuesday Fundraiser” on April 11th. We will receive 25% of all sales that day. Please support this event, and encourage friends, family and colleagues to support it as well. Consider treating your employees or staff, or purchasing gift certificates that day for a child’s birthday party at Serendipity or other future celebration! Prevention Walks McMinnville Walk: 535 NE 5th St, McMinnville, OR Newberg Walk: 503 E Hancock St, Newberg, OR Both McMinnville and Newberg are holding prevention walks during the month of April. These community walks will allow you to h ear from city and county officials, while walking with fellow community members in solidarity with victims of abuse. The walks will be about a mile in length. The McMinnville walk will start at the Yamhill County Courthouse on April 19th from 6:00 p.m. It will begin at the courthouse, down third and loop back to the courthouse.
The Newberg walk will start at the Newberg Public Library on April 27th from 12:00 p.m. To 12:30 p.m.
It will start at the library and loop. Show your support as an individual, family, or organization by joining us on this walk.

Klyc Broadcast From Serendipity Ice Cream Fundraiser For Mac
Newark Village Police responded to a report of a Burglary at Sal’s Ice Cream Shop at 508 South Main Street in Newark on Sunday (7/24) at 7:11 p.m. The two shop owners, Sally and Russell Malkowski, both 72 years old were confronted by Leesa Catalano, age 31, of 363 Bloom Road, Apt.
3 in Newark, demanding money. A physical struggle ensued and Sally received scratches and a bump on her head. Her husband, Russell suffered a bite mark. Catalano fled the scene without any money and was found shortly after walking on Prospect Street.
She was charged with Robbery in the 3rd Degree and two counts of Harassment in the 2nd Degree. She was arraigned in Newark Court and remanded to jail on $10,000 cash/$20,000 bond to reappear in Newark Court.
